LOCAL 1245 MEMBERS DRUM UP SUPPORT FOR PRO-WORKER LEGISLATORS IN CRITICAL WISCONSIN FIGHT
Local 1245 members are on the ground in Wisconsin, helping drum up support for pro-worker candidates. Unions are trying to recall six Republican legislators who voted for legislation earlier this year that stripped public sector workers of their bargaining rights.
The union is sending activist members to participate in campaigns in key states in order to gain experience for looming fights over public sector bargaining rights in California. We thank Donchele Soper for passing along these recent pictures from the frontlines!
Eight Local 1245 members will remain in the state through election day:
Jammi Angeles, Ean Charles, Donchele Soper and Jennifer Gray in Senate District 10; and Erika Barron, Lloyd Cargo, Eric Sunderland and Graciela Nunez in Senate District 14.
Reporting from District 14, Lloyd Cargo IV informs us:
“Here in District 14, we have met our goal of 800 GOTV (get out the vote) shifts filled. Thankfully Eric and I are back to what we do best, and that’s knocking on doors. We have been hitting very rural turf and the voters here are happy to see us. Gracie and Erika are focusing on undecided women voters in Baraboo and varifying our scheduled GOTV shift volunteers. The office is finally organized and we are ready for GOTV.”
