Lineman’s Rodeo: Application

IBEW Local 1245 Lineman Rodeo Logo28th Annual International Lineman’s Rodeo & Expo

October 12 -15, 2011 Bonner Springs, Kansas

Hosted by Kansas City Power & Light and Westar Energy

All IBEW Local 1245 Apprentices who have completed one full year and are members in good standing are eligible to apply. Eighteen (18) Apprentices will be chosen by drawing in August.

Dates

IBEW 1245 hurtman rescue event

The Rodeo: Saturday, October 15, 2011

The Awards Banquet: Saturday evening, following the Rodeo

The Rodeo Expo: October 14-15

The Rodeo Safety & Training Conference: October 12-13

Participants will travel to Kansas City early on Oct. 12
and return early on Oct. 16

The 2011 Apprentice Events are:

  • Apprentice Written Test
  • Hurtman Rescue
  • Pole Climb
  • CPR/AED (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillator)

Drawing:

Apprentices who want to participate must submit an on-line application. Winners will be selected by drawing in August. Alternates will also be drawn in case someone drops out. All contestants will be required to sign a release-of-liability form.

Expenses:

The union will provide shirts, travel, lodging (shared room), meals and time off work.
