JON CHRISTENSEN DIES IN JOBSITE ACCIDENT

Jon Christensen, a lineman from PG&E’s Tracy yard and a seven-year IBEW member, was fatally injured the morning of June 21 while working in Tracy.

He is survived by a son, and by his wife, who gave birth to their second son today (June 22).

PG&E, in a preliminary report, said the accident occurred at approximately 9:49 a.m. Brother Christensen was working in an elevated bucket truck when it is believed that he made contact with a secondary electric line. His onsite supervisor immediately lowered the bucket and called 911. Paramedics administered CPR, and he was then taken to Sutter Tracy Community Hospital.

PG&E is setting up a relief fund for Jon Christensen’s young family. A separate vacation-day sale option will also be made available.
