IBEW Local 1245 on Jan. 18 met with Wilson Construction, the contractor that has been awarded the 30-mile substation project outside of Ely, NV.
Members of the local building trades council were also in attendance. It was a pre-job meeting to go over work assignments. It still looks like the job will proceed.
The site preparation could start as early as late March. There are still two site location options, one is permitted but is the second choice. LS Power and NV Energy are trying to permit the first choice location.
We would not expect the line and substation construction to begin before mid-summer after the site and road preparations are complete. The substation has to be completed by the end of 2012.
