WHITMAN COMPARES FRESNO TO DETROIT;

FRESNO DOESN’T LIKE THE COMPARISON

Republican gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman showed up in Fresno for a fundraiser Sept. 24, just days after she compared the city to Detroit.

Those comments helped fuel dozens of protesters who also showed up, KMJ Radio reported.

The protesters marched and chanted outside the Harris construction office in east Fresno.

One carried a sign reading, “Meg Mocks Fresno.”  Protesters chanted, “Meg Go Home.”

Whitman said her comments about Fresno were meant to be helpful.
