IBEW Local 1245 member Scott Lamonda, 46, was killed in a three-car collision on June 15 while commuting to work.
Two other Local 1245 members commuting with Lamonda–Paul Wiles and Randy Menesini— were injured in the collision and taken from the scene to Renown Regional Medical Center by helicopter.
The memorial for Scott Lamonda will be on Sunday, June 20, at 3:00 pm at The Vinyard Fellowship, 307 Broadway, Yerington, NV. There will be a reception following at Scott and Torri’s home at 1440 State Route 208.
Lamonda, a 22-year member of the union and a lineman for NV Energy, was traveling in a pickup on Highway 50 at the time of the collision. He had been commuting from Yerington to Carson City since NV Energy closed its Yerington office earlier this year. Wiles, a line foreman, and Menesini, a lineman, were commuting to work with Lamonda when the accident occurred.
According to the Nevada Appeal, witnesses said an eastbound silver Chevy HHR sedan crossed the center lane just west of the V&T Railroad bridge on Highway 50 East in Mound House. The Chevy collided head-on with the vehicle driven by Lamonda, which then collided with a westbound white Dodge Neon.
The driver of the Chevy was killed, The driver of the Neon apparently escaped injury.
Local 1245 extends its condolences to the friends, family and co-workers of Brother Scott Lamonda, and we wish Paul Wiles and Randy Menesini a speedy recovery from their injuries.
