United States Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada met with IBEW Local 1245 Business Manager Tom Dalzell in Washington D.C. on April 15.
Senator Reid and Dalzell discussed workforce issues around renewable energy, the union’s contract negotiations with NV Energy, as well as efforts to create new jobs in Nevada through smart grid technology.
“These workers are the future of clean energy,” said Reid. “They will be the ones who construct, install and maintain the wind turbines, solar panels and efficient energy systems that are diversifying Nevada’s economy.”
