Members of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1245 will staff an information table at today’s Washoe Democratic Party caucuses at Wooster High School regarding changes to NV Energy retiree benefits.
Randy Osborn, Local 1245 business representative, said NV Energy set caps effective Jan. 1 on what it contributes in monthly medical premiums for retirees, including 350 in Northern Nevada.
“They won’t negotiate,” Osborn said of NV Energy.
NV Energy spokesman Rob Stillwell confirmed caps on the company’s contributions were set, but he refused to discuss details.
On Feb. 9, about 200 union workers protested outside NV Energy’s corporate headquarters in Las Vegas.
